The week in a sentence
Into the Wild runs Monday to Friday with Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta raids and a new legendary Max boss every day from Wednesday, then Wild Area Global takes over on Saturday and Sunday with Black and White Kyurem, Dynamax Dialga and Palkia, Gigantamax Duraludon and the featured attacks. The full event breakdown is in my Into the Wild event guide, every hundo is in my Into the Wild hundo post and my Wild Area hundo post, and the weekend’s news is in my Wild Area news post.
Daily Discoveries are paused all week, so there’s no Max Monday, Raid Hour Wednesday, Spotlight Thursday, Friendship Friday or Scenic Sunday.
1. Gigantamax Duraludon, Saturday and Sunday
Hundo 1753 (no weather boost) · Solo: no, six-star group · Worth it: yes
Gigantamax Duraludon debuts in six-star Max Battles at Wild Area Global, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, and it can be shiny.
- Number two Dragon Max attacker, behind only Eternatus (Metal Claw / G-Max Depletion, 302 Max Move damage against Eternatus’s 348).
- Six-star Max Battles need a full group, so plan with friends before Saturday. Need a group? My Discord community is friendly and always willing to help.
- Ticket holders also get a Gigantamax Duraludon from the Special Research, with a Special Background. A hundo from that one is 1314.
- If you’re weighing it up against Eternatus, I’ve compared the two in this post.
Matt's takeThis is the one I wouldn't miss. Put your Max Particles into Duraludon or Zacian this week.
2. Machamp wearing a modern jacket, Saturday and Sunday
Hundo 1746 (2183 weather boosted) · Solo: yes, easy · Worth it: yes
A brand new costume in three-star raids during Wild Area event hours on Saturday and Sunday, and it can be shiny.
- Easy solo (est 0.29 to 0.30, best counter Mega Mewtwo Y, 53 seconds).
- It can come with the new global Special Background.
- Machamp is B-Tier, number 36 Fighting on Hub (Counter / Dynamic Punch, 19.27 eDPS).
- Its featured attack is Karate Chop* (Fast, 10 power, 13 energy gain, 1.0s), but Hub’s best raid set is Counter / Dynamic Punch.
Matt's takeGrab it for the costume, but don't spend a TM chasing Karate Chop*. It's the wrong move for raids.
3. Legacy moves at Wild Area, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm
Worth it: yes
Catch or evolve these during Wild Area event hours (Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 6pm) and they’ll know a featured attack.
Metagross with Meteor Mash*
- Meteor Mash*: Charged, 100 power, 50 energy, 2.5s.
- Metagross is A-Tier, number eight Steel (Bullet Punch / Meteor Mash*, 23.13 eDPS).
- Mega Metagross is number six Steel (Bullet Punch / Meteor Mash*, 26.91 eDPS). That rank and eDPS come from DialgaDex, since Hub only ranks it with Meteor Mash+, which isn’t out yet.
- Beldum is in Solid as Steel hours, and mighty Metagross is in the wild on Saturday.
- Mega Metagross raids start Wednesday 25 November, so get Meteor Mash* sorted now.
Hydreigon with Brutal Swing*
- Brutal Swing*: Charged, 65 power, 33 energy, 2.0s.
- Hydreigon is A-Tier, number 12 Dark (Bite / Brutal Swing*, 22.23 eDPS).
- Deino is in Daring as Dragons hours, and mighty Hydreigon is in the wild on Sunday.
- Brutal Swing* is what makes it a top Dark attacker. At 33 energy it fires often.
Tinkaton with Gigaton Hammer*
- Gigaton Hammer*: Charged, 300 power, 100 energy, 3.0s.
- Tinkaton is B-Tier, number 12 Steel (Fairy Wind / Gigaton Hammer*, 20.93 eDPS).
- Tinkatink is in Solid as Steel hours, and mighty Tinkaton is in the wild on Sunday.
- 300 power is the biggest number of any featured attack this weekend. Tinkaton’s low Attack holds it back, but this move still gets it to number 12 Steel.
Haxorus with Breaking Swipe*
- Breaking Swipe*: Charged, 45 power, 33 energy, 1.0s.
- Haxorus is A-Tier, number 24 Dragon (Dragon Tail / Breaking Swipe*, 23.37 eDPS), and it goes down fast (TDO about 16% less than attackers around its rank).
- Axew is in Daring as Dragons hours, and mighty Haxorus is in the wild on Saturday.
- Only 33 energy and 1.0s, so it’s cheap and comes out fast.
Flygon with Earth Power*
- Earth Power*: Charged, 100 power, 50 energy, 3.5s.
- Flygon is C-Tier, number 49 Ground (Sand Attack / Earth Power*, 16.57 eDPS).
- Trapinch is in Daring as Dragons hours, and mighty Flygon is in the wild on Saturday.
- Earth Power* is its best move, but number 49 Ground isn’t a top build.
Magnezone with Magnet Bomb
Hub doesn’t have Magnet Bomb yet. Evolve a Magnezone during event hours anyway, then check once the numbers are up. Magnemite is in the wild during Into the Wild, so keep that candy.
Matt's takeMeteor Mash* is the one to sort first, because Mega Metagross raids are only a couple of weeks away. Then Hydreigon, Tinkaton and Haxorus.
4. Crowned Sword Zacian, until Friday 8pm
Hundo 2188 (2735 weather boosted) · Solo: no, trio at level 40, duo if maxed · Worth it: yes
Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta are in five-star raids from Monday 9 November at 10am until Into the Wild ends on Friday 13 November at 8pm. You catch the Hero form, and each win gives you Crowned Sword Energy or Crowned Shield Energy to change it. Both can be shiny.
- Crowned Sword Zacian is the best Steel attacker in the game: SS-Tier, number one Steel (Metal Claw / Behemoth Blade, 33.11 eDPS), and very tanky (TDO number two in Steel, about 58% more than attackers around its rank).
- It’s also S-Tier, number two Fairy (Metal Claw / Play Rough, 25.05 eDPS), with only Mega Gardevoir above it.
- In Max Battles it’s the number one Steel Max attacker (Metal Claw / Behemoth Blade, 320 Max Move damage).
- It’s not a solo: a trio at level 40, or a duo if your counters are maxed (est 1.70 to 2.15 at level 40, 1.54 to 1.90 maxed, best counter Mega Delphox, about 15 faints, 486 seconds).
- Your Remote Raid limit goes up to 30 a day Monday to Friday.
- Crowned Sword Zacian Raid Hour is Monday 9 November, 6pm to 7pm, the easiest hour of the week to fill a lobby. Use your remote passes here if you can’t get out.
- More on how Crowning works in my Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta guide.
Matt's takeIf you only raid one of the Crowned pair, make it Zacian. Grab two friends unless your counters are maxed.
5. Black and White Kyurem, Saturday and Sunday
Hundo 2042 (2553 weather boosted) · Solo: no, duo · Worth it: yes
White Kyurem and Zekrom are in five-star raids on Saturday, and Black Kyurem and Reshiram on Sunday, during Wild Area event hours. You catch a regular Kyurem plus Fusion Energy to fuse it. All four can be shiny and can come with the new Special Background.
- White Kyurem is the number one Ice attacker in the game: SS-Tier (Ice Fang / Ice Burn, 32.59 eDPS). It’s also SS-Tier, number six Dragon (Dragon Breath / Ice Burn, 29.40 eDPS).
- Black Kyurem is a top five attacker in two types: SS-Tier, number five Dragon (Dragon Tail / Freeze Shock, 31.38 eDPS), behind Mega Rayquaza, Eternatus, Mega Dragonite and Mega Garchomp, and S-Tier, number two Ice (29.38 eDPS), behind only White Kyurem.
- Both are duos, but only just (White Kyurem est 1.10 to 1.36 at level 40, about 8 faints, 317 seconds; Black Kyurem est 1.10 to 1.32, about 12 faints, 313 seconds; best counter Mega Mewtwo X for both).
- You get up to three free Raid Passes a day from Gyms, and there’s no Remote Raid limit on the weekend.
- Kyurem from these raids may know Glaciate.
- Which fusion is better? I’ve covered it in Black or White Kyurem.
Matt's takeLine up the same friend for both days. If passes are tight, prioritise Black Kyurem.
Zekrom and Reshiram, Saturday and Sunday
You need them to fuse your Kyurem, so don’t overlook them.
- Zekrom (Saturday): S-Tier, number 11 Electric (Charge Beam / Fusion Bolt*, 22.87 eDPS), and very tanky (TDO number three in Electric). Hundo 2307, or 2884 weather boosted in Windy or Rain. A duo (est 1.45 to 1.71 at level 40, best counter Eternatus, about 10 faints, 417 seconds).
- Reshiram (Sunday): A-Tier, number 10 Fire (Fire Fang / Fusion Flare*, 24.40 eDPS) and A-Tier, number 36 Dragon (Dragon Breath / Draco Meteor, 21.45 eDPS). Hundo 2307, or 2884 weather boosted in Windy or Sunny. A duo (est 1.45 to 1.96 at level 40, best counter Eternatus, about 13 faints, 414 seconds).
- Fusion Flare* is legacy, so keep a Reshiram that has it.
Into the Wild, Monday to Friday
Monday 9 November 10am to Friday 13 November 8pm.
- Remote Raid limit goes up to 30 Monday to Friday, and there’s no Remote Raid limit at all on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15.
- Five-star raids and five-star Max Battles can give a new Special Background, and it’s available globally, not just in person.
- Wild: Magnemite, Noibat and Togedemaru. Magnezone is A-Tier, number 25 Electric (Volt Switch / Wild Charge, 19.18 eDPS). Noivern is D-Tier, number 83 Flying, and Togedemaru is C-Tier, number 73 Electric.
- Into the Wild Global Challenge: raids and Max Battles worldwide unlock stronger Adventure Effects for Behemoth Blade and Behemoth Bash, and Max Battle energy that fills the meter faster.
- Field Research has Wild Area-themed encounters.
Matt's takeKeep your Magnemite candy, because Magnezone gets Magnet Bomb at Wild Area on the weekend. Noivern and Togedemaru aren't builds, they're candy and dex fillers.
Crowned Shield Zamazenta Raid Hour, Tuesday
Hundo 2188 (2735 weather boosted) · Solo: no, duo
Tuesday 10 November, 6pm to 7pm.
- SS-Tier, number two Steel (Metal Claw / Behemoth Bash, 32.32 eDPS), behind only Crowned Sword Zacian.
- The tankier of the two: TDO number one in Steel, with about 2% more TDO than Zacian.
- Number four Steel Max attacker (Metal Claw / Behemoth Bash, 245 Max Move damage), behind Crowned Sword Zacian, Dynamax Metagross and Dynamax Excadrill. It drops to number five once Dynamax Dialga arrives on Saturday.
- It’s a duo (est 1.71 to 1.98 at level 40, best counter Mega Mewtwo X, about 12 faints, 489 seconds), so this is the hour to find your friend.
Dynamax Registeel, Wednesday
Hundo 1398 (no weather boost) · Worth it: only if you need a tank
Dynamax Registeel is in five-star Max Battles on Wednesday 11 November, all day, with the featured attack Metal Claw (Fast, 6 power, 5 energy gain, 0.5s).
- Not an attacker in raids or Max Battles: number 12 Steel Max attacker (146 Max Move damage), and E-Tier, number 127 Steel in raids.
- But 285 Defence and 190 HP make it a real tank option.
- The featured Metal Claw changes nothing. It isn’t legacy on Hub, so any Registeel can learn it.
Matt's takeWorth it if your Max team is short on tanks, otherwise skip it.
Dynamax Regidrago’s debut, Thursday
Hundo 1699 (no weather boost) · Worth it: yes
Dynamax Regidrago is in five-star Max Battles on Thursday 12 November only, all day. It can be shiny and comes with the featured attack Dragon Breath* (Fast, 6 power, 4 energy gain, 0.5s).
- Hub hasn’t ranked Dynamax Regidrago for any Max Move type yet.
- In raids, Regidrago is S-Tier, number 19 Dragon (Dragon Breath* / Dragon Energy*, 24.79 eDPS).
- Dragon Breath is half its best raid moveset*, so this is the one featured attack this week that’s worth it. Dragon Energy* is legacy too, so you may still need an Elite Charged TM.
- 400 HP but only 101 Defence, so don’t count on it as a tank.
- More in my Into the Wild news post.
Matt's takeOne day only, so this is your window. Hub hasn't ranked its Max Move damage yet, so I wouldn't spend big on Max Moves until it does.
Dynamax Latios and Latias, Friday
Latios hundo 2178 · Latias hundo 2006 (no weather boost)
Both are in five-star Max Battles on Friday 13 November, all day, and both can be shiny. Latios gets the featured attack Luster Purge* and Latias gets Mist Ball*.
- Dynamax Latios is the number two Dragon Max attacker (Dragon Breath / Max Wyrmwind, 261 Max Move damage), behind only Eternatus, and number three Psychic (Zen Headbutt / Max Mindstorm, 261), behind Dynamax Alakazam and Dynamax Azelf. Once Dynamax Palkia, Dynamax Dialga and Gigantamax Duraludon arrive on the weekend, it drops to number five Dragon. In raids it’s only B-Tier, number 33 Psychic (22.83 eDPS).
- Dynamax Latias is number five Fairy (Charm / Max Starfall, 187 Max Move damage), number six Dragon (225, dropping to number nine once the weekend’s debuts arrive) and number 10 Psychic (225). In raids it’s B-Tier, number 51 Dragon (18.55 eDPS).
- Luster Purge* is Charged, 100 power, 100 energy, 1.5s. Mist Ball* is Charged, 105 power, 100 energy, 2.0s.
- Mega Latios is A-Tier, number six Psychic (Zen Headbutt / Psychic, 29.10 eDPS), and Mega Latias is S-Tier, number 22 Dragon (Dragon Breath / Outrage, 24.06 eDPS). Both of those numbers are only at Super Max.
- The featured attacks are a trap. Hub’s best movesets use Psychic, Dragon Claw and Outrage, not Luster Purge* or Mist Ball*, even for the Megas.
- Latias isn’t one to build: Dynamax Gardevoir (233 Fairy) and Latios (261 Dragon and Psychic) beat it this same week.
Matt's takeIf you've got Max Particles for one legendary before the weekend, spend them on Latios. Catch Latias for the candy and the shiny chance, and don't spend an Elite TM chasing either featured attack.
Max Battles all week: Dynamax Ralts and Machop
During Into the Wild, Dynamax Ralts is in one-star Max Battles (hundo 308) and Dynamax Machop in two-star Max Battles (hundo 730). Neither is weather boosted.
- Dynamax Gardevoir is the number one Fairy Max attacker (Charm / Max Starfall, 233 Max Move damage), and Ralts is a one-star you can do on your own. In raids Gardevoir is only A-Tier, number 14 Fairy (19.49 eDPS), so this is a big split.
- Dynamax Gallade is a strong Fighting Max backup at 233, number four Fighting behind Gigantamax Machamp and both styles of Dynamax Urshifu.
- Dynamax Machamp is number five Fighting (Counter / Max Knuckle, 230 Max Move damage).
Matt's takeRalts is the one to do. Already have a Gigantamax Machamp? Skip Machop, it's 230 against 296, and it was here for Max Monday just last week.
Three-star raids: Druddigon and Orthworm
During Into the Wild.
- Druddigon: hundo 1561 (1951 weather boosted in Windy). An easy solo (est 0.41 to 0.44, best counter Eternatus, 73 seconds). C-Tier, number 84 Dragon.
- Orthworm: hundo 1313 (1642 weather boosted in Snow). An easy solo (est 0.46 to 0.47, best counter Mega Mewtwo X, 84 seconds). E-Tier, number 121 Steel.
Neither is worth building, so these are only for shiny checks or the dex.
GO Pass: Into the Wild
Monday 9 November 10am to Sunday 15 November 6pm. There’s a daily GO Points cap Monday to Friday and no cap on Saturday and Sunday. Claim your rewards by Tuesday 17 November at 11:59pm.
- Free track: a Dynamax Meltan encounter (hundo 457), and rank 25 gives 1/2 Hatch Distance. Melmetal is B-Tier, number 17 Steel (Thunder Shock / Double Iron Bash*, 19.74 eDPS). Hub hasn’t ranked Dynamax Melmetal for any Max Move type yet.
- Deluxe (US$14.99, or US$19.99 with 10 ranks): a Silver Bottle Cap, more Dynamax Meltan and Duraludon Pants, plus +1 Candy and Candy XL from raids and Max Battles, 3/4 Max Particle cost for Max Moves and extra XP.
- Mystery Box: a shiny Meltan chance and a shorter cooldown until Sunday 6pm.
- Coin Bags: a shiny Gimmighoul chance until Sunday 6pm.
- Redeem the first tier and you get the Dynamax Trails Deluxe GO Pass for free.
Matt's takeWork the free track, because the half Hatch Distance helps with the weekend's 10km eggs, and open your Mystery Box this week for the shiny Meltan chance. If you buy Deluxe, buy it for the cheaper Max Moves and extra candy, not the bottle cap. IVs barely change damage, so a Silver Bottle Cap is really for a favourite or a 100% dex entry.
Wild Area Global, Saturday and Sunday
Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, 10am to 6pm, free for everyone. An optional US$11.99 ticket covers both days.
- Free bonuses: up to 3 free Raid Passes a day from Gyms, a 1,600 daily Max Particle limit, GO Safari Balls from PokéStops and Gyms, 8-hour Party Play and mighty Pokémon on Routes.
- Ticket adds: more shinies, up to 6 free Raid Passes, a 3,200 Max Particle limit, 2x catch Candy, more 10km eggs, half-Stardust trades and up to 6 Special Trades.
- Special Background, available globally: Machamp wearing a modern jacket, Dynamax Dialga, Dynamax Palkia, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem and Gigantamax Duraludon can have it after a catch from raids or Max Battles.
- Habitat hours: Solid as Steel on even hours from 10am, Daring as Dragons on odd hours from 11am. They include Beldum, Magnemite, Axew, Deino, Trapinch, Tinkatink, Gible, Bagon and more.
- Saturday’s mighty wild Pokémon: Alolan Exeggutor, Scizor, Flygon, Walrein, Metagross, Empoleon, Magnezone, Conkeldurr and Haxorus.
- Sunday’s mighty wild Pokémon: Azumarill, Kingdra, Aggron, Ferrothorn, Hydreigon, Goodra, Noivern, Tinkaton and Clodsire.
- Ticket holders get mighty Latias and Latios from Incense. They flee fast, so use Safari Balls.
Matt's takeThree free Raid Passes and no remote cap make this a raid day for everyone. Mighty Pokémon are more likely to be XL with high stats, so Saturday is the day for Metagross, Haxorus, Flygon and Magnezone, and Sunday for Hydreigon and Tinkaton.
Wild Area 10km eggs
- Duraludon: hundo 1753. C-Tier, number 37 Steel (Metal Claw / Flash Cannon, 16.75 eDPS).
- Honedge: hundo 794. Aegislash (Shield Forme) is F-Tier, number 204 Ghost.
- Klefki: hundo 1114. D-Tier, number 99 Fairy.
- Drampa: hundo 1665. C-Tier, number 73 Dragon, and it goes down fast.
Hatch the 10km eggs for the shinies. Eggs are your best shot at shinies that are hard to get anywhere else.
Dynamax Dialga (Saturday) and Dynamax Palkia (Sunday)
Dialga hundo 2307 · Palkia hundo 2280 (no weather boost)
Both make their Dynamax debut, one day each, and both can be shiny.
- Dynamax Dialga: number two Steel Max attacker (Metal Claw / Max Steelspike, 268 Max Move damage), behind only Crowned Sword Zacian, and number four Dragon (268), behind Eternatus, Gigantamax Duraludon and Dynamax Palkia. In raids it’s B-Tier, number 14 Steel and A-Tier, number 29 Dragon.
- Dynamax Palkia: number three Dragon Max attacker (Dragon Breath / Max Wyrmwind, 272 Max Move damage), behind Eternatus and Gigantamax Duraludon. In raids it’s A-Tier, number 28 Dragon.
- Neither is one to build. Crowned Sword Zacian (320 Steel) and Gigantamax Duraludon (302 Dragon) are both out this week and hit harder.
Matt's takeCatch them for the candy, but put your Max Particles into Zacian or Duraludon.
Minior Showers: Leonids, from Saturday
Saturday 14 November 5pm to Thursday 19 November 11:59pm. Minior is more likely from 5pm to 9pm each day, and you get 1,000 Stardust for catching one. This shower’s core colour hasn’t been announced. It’s a Stardust top-up after a big raid day, and mostly for collectors chasing every core colour.
Also this week
- Friday 13 November, 8pm: Into the Wild ends, along with the Crowned raids and the 30 Remote Raid limit.
- Sunday 15 November, 6pm: GO Pass points end, and so do shiny Meltan from the Mystery Box and shiny Gimmighoul from Coin Bags. No GO Points cap on Sunday, so push for the Dynamax Meltan ranks and open your Mystery Box before 6pm.
- Tuesday 17 November, 11:59pm: unclaimed Into the Wild pass rewards expire.
- No Mega Raids or Shadow legendary raids this week. Mega Banette and Shadow Tornadus start Monday 16 November.
- GO Pass: November keeps running until Tuesday 1 December, with Groudon and 400 free PokéCoins on the free track.
- Twilight Trails season continues until Tuesday 1 December.
- adidas x Pokémon Timed Research is at participating stores until Friday 15 January.
- Pokémon Night Out runs in London on Tuesday 10 November (Wednesday morning our time), for attendees at the venue only.
What you can skip
- Dynamax Registeel on Wednesday. Not an attacker in raids or Max Battles, so it’s only worth it if you need another tank.
- The Silver Bottle Cap as a reason to buy Deluxe. IVs barely change damage, and level matters more. Buy Deluxe for the extra candy and cheaper Max Moves, if at all.
- Dynamax Machop, if you already have Gigantamax Machamp. 230 Max Move damage against 296, and it was here for Max Monday last week too. Put those Max Particles into Latios or Gigantamax Duraludon instead.
Matt's full day-by-day plan for the week is on Patreon.
