more damage than your best

Pick the Pokémon you're thinking of getting, then your best attacker of that type and its CP. I'll tell you how big an upgrade it really is.

How this comparison works

Both use their best moves that are in the game now. Your Pokémon's level is estimated from its CP, since IVs barely change damage. The new one is compared two ways: fresh from a raid at level 20 against yours today, and built up to the same level as yours. The verdict uses the built-up figure plus what it costs in Stardust, Candy and Candy XL to power a raid catch up to your Pokémon's level, since that's when the extra damage arrives. It's raid damage only, not PvP, survivability or time to win.

FAQ

How do I know if a new Pokémon is worth getting in Pokémon GO?

Compare it with what you already have, not with the whole game. A Pokémon that tops the rankings is a small upgrade if you already own one nearly as strong, and a big one if your best of that type is weak. This tool does that comparison for you at the same level.

Why does it ask for CP instead of level or IVs?

The game shows you CP, not level, so I work out the level from the CP. IVs barely change damage. Level is what matters, so leaving IVs out keeps it simple and the answer is still within about a level.

What do the verdicts mean?

15% or more damage than your best, once built up to the same level, is a big jump, so get it. 5 to 15% is nice but not essential, and only worth it if powering a raid catch up to your Pokémon's level costs under about 100,000 Stardust and no Candy XL. Under 5% means save your resources.

Why does my CP matter?

The extra damage only arrives once the new Pokémon is as built up as yours. A raid catch starts at level 20, so the more you've already invested in yours, the more Stardust and Candy it takes to get the new one there. The tool shows that cost, and how the new one compares straight out of a raid.

Where do the rankings come from?

Pokémon GO Hub's best attackers for each type, using only moves that are in the game now. The top 40 for every type were last checked on 31 October 2026.

Does it work for Mega and Shadow Pokémon?

Yes. Megas, Primals and Shadows are all in the rankings. Only one Mega can be active in a raid, so a new Mega only helps your team if it beats your best Mega, and the tool tells you when that matters.
