Dragon types take super effective damage back from Palkia’s Dragon moves, so expect to faint more. Bring plenty of revives, or use a Fairy type like Mega Gardevoir if you’d rather stay alive.
Can you solo Palkia?
No. Palkia with Aqua Tail is a comfortable duo. Palkia with Draco Meteor is the hardest version, and with level 40 attackers it can take three trainers. Maxed level 50 attackers bring that back to a duo.

Is Palkia worth raiding?
When I first covered Palkia, I said it was decent but not quite as good as Origin Forme Palkia, and that’s still true. Here’s where each version stands today on Pokémon GO Hub:
- Palkia is the 28th best Dragon attacker with Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor (17.08 DPS).
- Origin Forme Palkia is 12th with Dragon Tail and Spacial Rend* (19.13 DPS).
- Shadow Palkia is 10th with Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor (20.20 DPS), if you caught one from Giovanni.

Origin Forme Palkia and Spacial Rend
Origin Forme Palkia comes to raids at different times to regular Palkia, and it’s the only version that can learn Spacial Rend*.
- Raid hundo: 2367 CP, or 2958 weather boosted in Rain or Windy weather.
- Counters: the same as regular Palkia. It’s slightly tougher, so plan for the same group size.
- Adventure effect: Spacial Rend extends the distance Pokémon spawn around you, so you see more of them on the map. It’s handy during busy events like Community Day.
Regular Palkia can’t come with Spacial Rend, so you can’t get it from a normal Palkia raid.
