Dialga Raid Guide: Best Counters, Hundo CP and Can You Solo It?
Dialga's raid hundo is 2307 CP, or 2884 weather boosted in Snow or Windy weather. Its best counters are Fighting and Ground types like Mega Lucario, Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Blaziken, Primal Groudon and Keldeo. It isn't soloable, even with maxed attackers, so grab a friend for a duo.
| Pokémon | Where | Hundo CP | Weather boosted |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dialga | 5-star raids | 2307 | 2884 Snow or Windy |
| Dialga (Origin Forme) | 5-star raids | 2337 | 2921 Snow or Windy |
Dialga at a glance
- Type: Steel and Dragon, so it’s weak to Fighting and Ground.
- Raid hundo: 2307 CP, or 2884 weather boosted in Snow or Windy weather.
- Shiny: yes, Dialga can be shiny from raids.
- Solo: no, it needs a duo even with maxed attackers.
Best Dialga counters
Fighting and Ground types are what you want. The top 10 on Pokémon GO Hub’s Dialga counters list:
- Mega Lucario (Force Palm* and Aura Sphere)
- Mega Mewtwo X (Counter* and Dynamic Punch+)
- Mega Blaziken (Counter and Aura Sphere)
- Primal Groudon (Mud Shot and Precipice Blades*)
- Keldeo (Low Kick and Secret Sword)
- Mega Mewtwo Y (Counter* and Focus Blast)
- Mega Gallade (Low Kick and Sacred Sword)
- Shadow Groudon (Mud Shot and Precipice Blades*)
- Mega Garchomp (Mud Shot and Earth Power*)
- Lucario (Force Palm* and Aura Sphere)
No Megas or legendaries? Any well levelled Pokémon with Fighting or Ground moves will do the job. Only one Mega can be active in a raid, so pick your best one and fill the rest of the team with the non-Mega options.
Can you solo Dialga?
No. It’s close, but even with maxed level 50 attackers Dialga still needs more than one trainer, especially when it has Draco Meteor, which makes it the hardest version to beat.
Grab a friend and it’s a comfortable duo. Need people to raid with? My Discord is friendly and always willing to help.
Is Dialga worth raiding?
When I first covered Dialga’s return, it was one of the best Steel attackers you could get. A lot has been added since, so here’s where it stands today on Pokémon GO Hub:
- Dialga is the 14th best Steel attacker with Metal Claw and Iron Head (15.22 DPS).
- Shadow Dialga is much better at 7th (18.11 DPS), if you have one from Team GO Rocket.
- As a Dragon attacker with Dragon Breath and Draco Meteor, regular Dialga is down at 29th.
Matt's takeRaid Dialga for the shiny, the hundo and a decent Steel attacker, but you don't need to build a whole team of them anymore.
Origin Forme Dialga and Roar of Time
Origin Forme Dialga shows up in raids at different times to regular Dialga, and it’s the only version that can learn Roar of Time*.
- Raid hundo: 2337 CP, or 2921 weather boosted in Snow or Windy weather.
- Counters: the same as regular Dialga. It’s slightly tougher, so it’s a duo too.
- Roar of Time*: with Dragon Breath, it makes Origin Dialga the 15th best Dragon attacker on Pokémon GO Hub (18.20 DPS), a big step up from regular Dialga.
- Adventure effect: Roar of Time pauses your active item timers, which is handy for stretching out a Daily Incense.
The regular Dialga in normal raids can’t come with Roar of Time. If you already have an Origin Dialga, a regular Dialga raid is still a good chance to farm candy for it.
