Mega Ascension and the Mega Finale 2026: Mega Delphox, Greninja and Chesnaught

The official Mega Finale details explained how the new Kalos Megas would work. Here’s how it played out.

Mega Ascension: 31 August to 4 September

• You chose Chespin, Fennekin or Froakie and worked towards its Mega Evolution in the GO Pass.
• Mega Chesnaught, Delphox and Greninja weren’t in raids.
• The free tier gave enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve your chosen Pokémon, and the Deluxe tier enough to reach Super Max Mega Level, as well as shiny boosts from certain Mega raids and encounters.
• Every Pokémon that had appeared in Super Mega Raids, other than Mewtwo, returned to regular Mega raids, so they had no shields.
• The remote raid limit went up to 30.

Mega Finale: 5 and 6 September

• Rotating habitats with many Mega Pokémon in raids.
• Mega Mewtwo X on Saturday and Mega Mewtwo Y on Sunday in Super Mega Raids.
• The Mega Evolution background returned all week, and Mewtwo had this one rather than the DNA background.
• The remote raid limit was removed.
