February 2025’s Community Day wasn’t one Pokémon, it was two: Karrablast and Shelmet appeared in huge numbers on Sunday 9 February 2025, 2pm to 5pm local time.
Worth it?
The shinies were the real draw, because there was almost no raid use for either Pokémon:
- Escavalier (Karrablast’s evolution) was the 24th best Bug attacker when I covered it, using Bug Bite and Megahorn.
- Accelgor (Shelmet’s evolution) was the 42nd best Bug attacker, using Infestation and Bug Buzz.
Their Community Day moves were pretty average too.
Why it suited solo players
Karrablast and Shelmet normally evolve by trading. Without a trade, each evolution costs 200 Candy. 2x catch Candy made this a good chance to tick off both evolutions on your own.
