Catch Zubat wearing a top hat before it leaves the wild on Sunday at 10am, and do the one-star raids for costumed Pikachu and Sinistea, both shiny from day one and easy solos.

The week in a sentence
Two last-chance Mega Charizards on Tuesday, Giratina Origin on Wednesday, Mega Chandelure’s debut on Saturday, and Halloween Part II with Mega Sableye’s Super Max on Sunday.
1. Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day, Saturday
Hundo 1867 (2335 weather boosted) · Solo: no, four trainers · Worth it: yes
Saturday 31 October, 2pm to 5pm. Mega Chandelure debuts in Super Mega Raids, with better shiny odds on Chandelure.
- Up to six free Raid Passes from spinning Gym discs.
- The Remote Raid limit goes up to 20 from Saturday 10am to Sunday 1pm Brisbane time.
- Chandelure you catch comes with Mega Level 1 already unlocked.
- Mega Chandelure debuts at number four Ghost on DialgaDex (Hex / Shadow Ball, 26.79 eDPS), right behind Mega Gengar’s 27.58. Only Dawn Wings Necrozma, Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Gengar are ahead of it. It’s also number six Fire (Fire Spin / Overheat, 19.56 DPS, 403.0 TDO).
- It’s a big jump on regular Chandelure, which sits at number 20 Ghost with 21.10 eDPS.
- Ominous Wind+ is a new Charged Attack: 145 power in raids, and it scales with Mega Level. At Super Mega Level 1, DialgaDex has Shadow Ball just ahead of it, so Ominous Wind+ should get better as it levels.
- Mega Chandelure can reach the new Super Max level with Chandelure Mega Energy.
- It’s a four-person raid, even with maxed attackers (best counter Mega Houndoom), so plan your group or your remotes before 2pm. Need a group? Matt’s Discord community is friendly and always willing to help.
- A Global Challenge runs Saturday 10am to Sunday 1pm Brisbane time. Its rewards boost Ominous Wind+ and Super Max Chandelure’s CP from Tuesday 3 November 6am to Monday 16 November 6am Brisbane time.
- The US$4.99 (A$7.99) ticket adds up to 14 Raid Passes, more Rare Candy XL, and an extra 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust per Super Mega Raid.
- Expected Timed Research, based on the last Super Mega Raid Day (confirmed on the day): a Tyranitar encounter, 200 Tyranitar Mega Energy and 10 Larvitar Candy XL. Mega Tyranitar is number two Dark and number three Rock on DialgaDex.
Matt's take: the six free passes alone make this worth showing up for, and the ticket is good value if you'll raid the full three hours.
2. Zubat wearing a top hat, from Tuesday
Worth it: yes
Zubat wearing a top hat debuts in the wild for Halloween Part I, Tuesday 27 October 10am to Sunday 1 November 10am, and it can be shiny from day one.
- It’s only in the wild during Part I, so it’s gone on Sunday morning.
3. Costumed Pikachu and Sinistea in one-star raids, from Tuesday
Hundo 536 Pikachu (670 weather boosted), 650 Sinistea (813 weather boosted) · Solo: yes, easy · Worth it: yes
Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet and Sinistea wearing a bow debut in one-star raids from Tuesday 27 October, both shiny from day one.
- They’re one-star raids and easy solos (best counters Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Gengar).
- They stay in raids until Thursday 5 November at 8pm.
Giratina Origin and Giratina Origin Raid Hour, Wednesday
Giratina (Origin Forme) is in five-star raids from Wednesday 28 October at 6am to Tuesday 3 November at 10pm, and it can be shiny.
- Number 21 Ghost on DialgaDex (Shadow Claw / Shadow Force*, 15.46 DPS, 445.8 TDO), so it’s a solid Ghost attacker.
- It’s a duo, not a solo, even with maxed attackers.
- Shadow Force* is a legacy move, so you’ll need an Elite TM if yours doesn’t have it.
Raid Hour is Wednesday 28 October, 6pm to 7pm, with one Rare Candy XL for completing in-person raids. It’s the best hour of the week to find a group, so line up two or three raids back to back.
Matt's take: great timing for Halloween, since Ghost is the theme all week.
Last day for Mega Charizard Y, Tuesday
Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y leave Mega raids on Tuesday 27 October at 10pm.
- Mega Charizard Y is the number two Fire attacker in the game (Fire Spin / Blast Burn*, 21.12 DPS, 451.9 TDO on DialgaDex). Only Mega Delphox is ahead, and it’s an easy solo.
- Mega Charizard X (number nine Fire, 18.25 DPS, 386.0 TDO) is soloable but tight: about 252 seconds against a 300 second timer.
- Blast Burn* is a legacy move, so check your Charizard has it before you Mega Evolve.
Matt's take: it's an easy solo, so grab the Mega Energy before 10pm.
GO Pass: no daily cap this weekend
From Saturday 31 October 12am to Sunday 1 November 11:59pm there’s no daily limit on GO Points. It’s your chance to finish the October pass, which ends Tuesday 3 November at 10am, and Raid Day raids give points, so it stacks nicely with Chandelure. Rank 100 on the free track is a Kyogre encounter. Primal Kyogre is the number one Water attacker in the game.
Max Monday: Dynamax Sableye
Monday 26 October, 6am to 9pm, with more Power Spots that refresh faster and one guaranteed Rare Candy XL for winning in-person Max Battles. Dynamax Sableye stays in Max Battles until Sunday 1 November.
- Sableye does 144 Max Move damage, last of six on Hub’s Ghost Max list. Dynamax Gengar does 255 and Gigantamax Gengar does 328.
- Its Defence (136) and HP (137) are low, so it’s not a tank either.
Matt's take: do one for the Rare Candy XL, or if you want the shiny, but don't spend Max Particles powering it up.
Mega Sableye, from Wednesday
Mega Sableye is in Mega raids from Wednesday 28 October at 6am to Sunday 8 November at 10pm, and it can be shiny. It’s a bulky boss but a weak attacker (D-Tier Dark and Ghost on Hub, Shadow Claw / Foul Play, 9.21 DPS, 174.2 TDO), and a duo, just.
Night Shade+ arrives Sunday with Super Max, and DialgaDex doesn’t have it with that move yet.
Matt's take: Mega Chandelure's Super Mega Raid Day is on Saturday, and that's going to be much better than Mega Sableye. Wait for the new ranking before you invest.
Gastly Spotlight Hour, Thursday
Thursday 29 October, 6pm to 7pm, with 2x Evolution XP. A Lucky Egg plus 2x Evolution XP is the play if you’re levelling. Mega Gengar is number one Poison on DialgaDex (Lick* / Sludge Bomb, 18.95 DPS, 322.5 TDO) and number three Ghost (Lick* / Shadow Ball, 21.84 DPS, 371.8 TDO), behind Dawn Wings Necrozma and Mega Mewtwo Y. Gengar candy is never wasted. Lick* is legacy, so an evolved Gastly won’t have it without an Elite TM.
Halloween 2026 Part I
Tuesday 27 October 10am to Sunday 1 November 10am. Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet, Zubat wearing a top hat and Sinistea wearing a bow debut, all shiny from day one.
- Wild: costumed Zubat, Duskull and Piplup in a Halloween Mischief costume. Rare: Drifblim in a Halloween Mischief costume.
- One-star raids: costumed Pikachu and costumed Sinistea (see above).
- Trick or Treat surprises in the wild: event encounters, event candy and sometimes Rare Candy.
- Bonuses come from the Halloween GO Pass (to Thursday 5 November 8pm): 2x Catch Candy at rank 10 and 2x Catch Stardust at rank 20, or 3x on Deluxe (US$7.99).
This is a collector’s event: nothing in the spawns is a top raid attacker. Rank the free GO Pass to 20 early so the 2x Stardust runs through Saturday’s Raid Day, and use the one-star raids for a quick shiny check on the costumed Pikachu and Sinistea.
Halloween 2026 Part II, Sunday
Sunday 1 November 10am to Thursday 5 November 8pm. The GO Pass bonuses carry straight over from Part I.
- Shiny Greavard debuts, and Field Research includes Greavard.
- Wild: Litwick, Rowlet in a Halloween costume and Greavard, all shiny. Rare: Gengar in a Spooky Festival costume.
- Mega Sableye can reach Super Max and gets Night Shade+ (160 power in raids).
- Costumed Pikachu and Sinistea continue in one-star raids.
Matt's take: Litwick is the one to grab, since Litwick candy feeds Mega Chandelure, number four Ghost on DialgaDex. Greavard is a shiny hunt, since Houndstone itself is only number 61 Ghost.
Also this week
- Palkia leaves five-star raids on Tuesday 27 October at 10pm. It’s number 30 Dragon and number 49 Water on DialgaDex, and a duo (a trio on the Draco Meteor moveset).
- Friendship Friday (30 October): in-person trades only, up to two extra Special Trades, a better Lucky Trade chance, 20% less Stardust per trade and two guaranteed Candy XL (level 31 and up). Trade on Friday, before Saturday’s Raid Day eats your Stardust. A Lucky Trinket from the October GO Pass Deluxe expires Sunday 8 November.
- Scenic Sunday (1 November): more wild spawns, more spawns on Routes and reduced Buddy Candy distance on Routes. It pairs well with Litwick and Greavard from 10am.
- GO Pass: Halloween 2026 rewards can be claimed until Saturday 7 November at 8pm.
- Twilight Trails season continues until Tuesday 1 December.
- adidas x Pokémon Timed Research is available at participating stores until Friday 15 January.
What you can skip
- Dynamax Sableye on Max Monday. 144 Max Move damage against Gigantamax Gengar’s 328, and it’s no tank either. Do one for the Rare Candy XL, then save your Max Particles.
- Palkia’s last two days, unless you’re a shiny hunter. It’s a duo or trio for a mid attacker.
- Mega Sableye raids, for now. D-Tier on Hub, and it still needs a friend. Wait for the Night Shade+ ranking.
- The Halloween GO Pass Deluxe. The free pass already gets you 2x Candy and 2x Stardust, so only buy Deluxe if you’ll actually grind it for 3x and the Rare Candy XL.
